Be Careful reported a Scammer/Fraudster (8004379392 from area, ). The following comments were posted: They left a message on my phone. Call claimed they were the fraud dept. for credit union (message was for a person that wasnt me and no one I know). Called the credit union named directly after reading other reports here and their fraud dept. did not show that they had tried to make any contact with the person named and the credit union rep said the number was not for a company they use. The person the message was for had my phone number listed as theirs and I wanted to make sure it wasnt a case of identity theft.(It was likely an old number of that person that I now have). Bottom line: Call the credit union DIRECTLY (not the number given in the message) to verify whether this is a legitimate call or not. (Dont just ignore it in case it is a case of identity theft, which thankfully doesnt appear to be the case in this instance.) The credit union acct rep was very helpful, removed the incorrect phone number and put a note in the actual customers file to follow-up.
