JC reported a Unknown Caller (2813815470 from HOUSTON area, TX). The following comments were posted: Calls incessantly at all hours of the day. Sometimes calls three or more times in a row and does not leave a voice mail message. I use this telephone line for work and I have been interrupted by this number multiple times over and over during important teleconferences. Initially I was I concerned and called back - the call goes straight to a voice mail box without an outgoing message and that is full. I have seen on other websites other callers indicating the same information. At some point Congress will act to protect our data rights and find enforcement of the existing laws on the books such as the "Do Not Call" registry. Which right now is a joke and is actually a source format scares and telemarketers. Despite this practice being illegal within the US, there is no enforcement and for some reason the public outcry has not been loud enough. If this matters to you, next time you find yourself annoyed with one of these calls, call your senator and congressman. They do actually have staff to answer the phones and it is surprising how few people it actually takes to get their attention. We live in a democracy and they work for us. If we had the ability to call our bosses, and anonymously and without fear of retribution, in a how quickly would we be on the phone. We have this right as citizens. Few people take advantage of this right whether by calling or emailing. It is simple and if they dont listen we can vote them out of office. Just let them know what we wanted changed or made better about out lives, out country, what we care about and what keeps us up at night. It really does matter and our voices keep them up at night. Just call. It isnt I intimidating, if you remember that the person on the other end of the line isnt the senator or congressman it is a nineteen year old intern worrying if her blemish is noticeable. She listens, logs your call and subject matter and goes back to worrying about her blemish. Next time youre frustrated with one of these calls consider calling your senator or congressman and tell them you want legislation to put a stop to harassing telemarketers and aggressive bill collectors and want a substantive Do Not Call register with funding to investigate complaints and punish law breakers. It really is past the point of being a little annoying. The more voices the louder it will be and the quicker Congress will take action.
